BuckBudget is an educational planning tool, not a licensed financial advisor. All projections, retirement estimates, debt payoff timelines, and savings calculations are provided for informational and educational purposes only.

BuckBudget is a personal finance application created by Matt Neal ("we," "us," or "our"). BuckBudget helps individuals budget, plan for retirement, track savings goals, and manage bills — without requiring access to your bank accounts or any sensitive financial credentials.

Data Stored Locally On Your Device

When you use BuckBudget, the following is saved directly to your device and never transmitted to us:

• Your first name (if entered during onboarding)
• Budget figures you enter (income, expenses, debt amounts)
• Retirement calculator inputs (age, savings, goals)
• Savings goals, bill reminders, and credit card entries
• App settings and preferences

Optional: Email Address

During onboarding you may optionally provide your email. If you do, it's used solely to send BuckBudget product updates via Mailchimp. We will never sell your email. You can unsubscribe at any time.

What We Do NOT Collect

• Bank account information or credentials
• Social Security number or tax ID
• Location, contacts, camera, or microphone
• Any financial data — it stays on your device
• Advertising data — we don't sell your data

All financial data is stored using your device's local storage and IndexedDB — standard browser storage that stays on your device. This means:

• Your data exists only on the device you use
• Clearing app data or uninstalling will delete your data
• We have no ability to recover deleted data
• Nothing is backed up to any cloud server by BuckBudget

BuckBudget may request permission to send push notifications for bill reminders. This is optional. Notifications are generated locally on your device based on bill dates you enter — no content is sent to our servers. You can revoke permission in your device settings at any time.

Mailchimp (Optional Email)

If you opt in with your email, it's sent to Mailchimp per their privacy policy at mailchimp.com/legal/privacy.

Google Fonts & Chart.js

BuckBudget loads fonts from Google Fonts and charts from cdnjs.cloudflare.com. These may log your IP as standard web traffic. No financial data is shared.

Netlify (Hosting)

BuckBudget is hosted on Netlify, which may collect standard server logs including IP addresses. No financial app data is accessible to Netlify.

BuckBudget is not directed at children under 13. We do not knowingly collect personal information from children under 13. If you believe a child has provided us information, contact us so we can delete it.

• Access: All your data is visible directly within the app
• Deletion: Clear your browser/app local storage to delete all data instantly
• Email opt-out: Use the unsubscribe link in any email or contact us directly
• Notifications: Revoke permission in your device settings at any time

We may update this Privacy Policy from time to time. Significant changes will be reflected in the "Last Updated" date below. Continued use of BuckBudget after changes are posted constitutes your acceptance.
